FAQs

What is an herbal consultation?

During our consultation we will discuss your medical history, dietary, and lifestyle practices. We will explore the underlying causes of illness, and create a wellness plan that is practical and attainable for you. Throughout our time together I will share with you herbal, nutritional education, and lifestyle choice recommendations. You will also receive an organic herbal formula customized for your specific constitution. The medicinals within it are thoughtfully hand-selected to address your unique physiological, emotional, and spiritual well-being, addressing the underlying cause of dis-ease and imbalance to achieve lasting results.

Please bring a list of current medications and a notebook for taking notes.

A follow-up visit is always at your discretion, often a month later at which time you may receive a refill or new herbal formula.

I am based out of Berkeley, California and can do home visits in Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond and occasionally in SF. I’m also available for phone or Skype consultations.

As a member of the American Herbalists Guild, I operate under a code of ethics, which includes informed consent, confidentiality, and peer review. You may read the full code of ethics here

What Is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal medicine is the art and science of skillfully collecting, preparing, and using plants and fungi to promote health, prevent and treat illness. Medicinally, an herb is any plant part or plant used for its therapeutic value. Herbal medicine is at the root of humanity’s great healing traditions and is still the most widely used system of medicine in the world today.

Herbal plant medicines support and nurture our body’s innate healing capacity. They can work in conjunction with other health care modalities to promote an integrated, cooperative, and complementary health care program. Herbs can be used alone and/or serve as complementary therapy, and address both acute and chronic dis-ease.
